International Womens day celebration Going global

I was fortunate to be one of the speakers on the panel for a discussion on the occasion of International Women's Day 2022 - global celebration held in Dubai. Interacted with some great personalities like Jessica Smith (Paralympion and international speaker) and all other dignitaries on various issues. The discussion mainly covered diversity and inclusion, upcoming challenges and opportunities, other key barriers as well as reforms at organizational level in global scenario to #BreakTheBias

With initial talk of sharing the journey of women officers in Indian Army so far and their recent advancement, I shared my own positive experience in the organization. It is the peculiarity of Army training to break the internal barriers in our mind and get ready to lead at different levels. It embeds gender equality in unique way, utmost priority being #NationFirst! Army shapes up in such a way that we face further challenges with extreme positivity, may it be undergoing rigorous physical training or staying alone in remote areas while leading our men. Also, our role is getting revised with technical advancement in all the defense organizations.
While seeking equal rights, one should not forget the responsibilities associated with it! So let us strive hard to strengthen ourselves from all the aspects. Success is corelated with not only to competence but to confidence! Miles to go...!

अकॅडेमीमधलं ट्रेनिंग संपवून आम्ही पुढच्या तयारीत गुंतलो होतो. दीक्षांत समारोह अर्थात्  पासिंग आऊट  परेड दोन दिवसांवर येऊन ठेपली होती. त्यासाठी विशेष निमंत्रित असणारे आम्हा सर्वांचे पालक अकॅडेमीमध्ये दाखल होत होते. एकीकडे सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमांचा सराव, दुसरीकडे विविध गणवेश आणि बुटांची तयारी, त्यात आईबाबा आल्यावर त्यांना हे दाखवू की ते दाखवू याकडे ओढ घेणारं मन...अशी प्रचंड गडबड सुरू होती. तेवढ्यात घामाघुम होऊन एक कोर्समेट पळत आली आणि मला म्हणाली, “कुछ कांड किया क्या गार्गी तूने?  सिद्धा अॅडजुटंटसे बुलावा आया है!जा भाग जल्दी|”   अॅडजुटंट म्हणजे ‘दंडपाल’, जो संपूर्ण अकॅडेमीचं प्रशासन बघतो! आजवर एकाच कारणासाठी तिथून बोलावणं येत असे, ते म्हणजे ‘पनिश्मेन्ट’! आधी अनेकदा माझी वर्णी लागली होती तिथे पण आता अगदी दोनच दिवस राहिले असताना सुद्धा शिक्षा.. म्हणजे अतीच झालं असा विचार करत मी तडक त्यांचं ऑफिस गाठलं. सल्युट करून उभी राहिले.  त्यांनी ‘विश्राम’ आज्ञा देत बोलायला सुरुवात केली. “परवाच्या पासिंग आऊट परेडसाठी प्रमुख पाहुणे म्हणून आपल्याला लाभले आहेत लेफ्टनंट जनरल श्र...

Every next level of life will demand a different version you ....याचा अनेकदा प्रत्यय येतो. जीवन म्हणजे एकाच मार्गाने पुढे जाणारं चाकोरीबद्ध यंत्र नसून, अनेक गोष्टींना कवेत घेत, सहस्त्रधारांनी पुढे जाणारा तो चैतन्यदायी, खळाळता   प्रवाह आहे! हे अनुभवण्यासाठी आपण निराशेची कात टाकत, प्रत्येक टप्प्यावर   नित्यनूतन होऊन त्याला सामोरं गेलं तर जगण्यातली   मजा वाढते! आपल्या आयुष्याचा आलेख समजून घेत,त्यात नव्याने झालेल्या बदलांची नोंद घेत, त्या त्या आव्हानांसाठी मोकळेपणाने स्वतःची तयारी करत पुढे गेलो तर आयुष्य बरंच सोपं,सहज आणि सुंदर होत जातं असा माझा अनुभव आहे. मग तो मातृत्त्वाचा टप्पा असो वा शरीराच्या दुखापती जिद्दीने भरून काढण्याचा, डोळसपणे त्यांच्याकडे बघण्याचा प्रयत्न खूपकाही देऊन गेला, मुख्य म्हणजे आत्मविश्वास! आज इतर विषय सोडून अचानक हे तत्त्वज्ञान आठवण्याचं किंवा स्वतःविषयी काही सांगण्याचं कारण म्हणजे ‘निरामय आरोग्यवर्धिनी’ जीवनशैलीचा नुकताच झालेला परीसस्पर्श! ‘ Age is just a number ’ असं कितीही म्हंटलं, तरी त्या त्या वयाच्या टप्प्यावर शरीर त्याच्याकडे लक्षं द्यायला आपल...
